SATAN - the world's greatest ENEMY - Busy body?

Satan has been described as a notorious busy-body. The internet WIKI says 'A busy body is someone, male or female, that needs to know everyone's business ....' wow...for that matter, busy bodies are all over the place and all over the web ... poking their noses and wanting to know what you are doing. Is this the work of SATAN? Honestly I don't know the answer.
In Sarawak, the malay kampong folks would called it in BM, '...menjaga tepi kain orang'. Of course what transpired is what we called GOSSIPING in English. Gossips are always about people. Most are baseless, half-truths and laughable. Almost all are due to the work of busy bodies. And Satan is laughing away alright! wow...

What is WHEY ? ... the ultimate milk

Whey is a special high protein milk somewhat like mother's milk and they supply the body with many amino acids for muscle growth and tissue repair. When processed, they can come in concentrates (isolate), protein hydrolysate or hydrolized. All these are to ease digestibility. However, we all need to be careful with the excessive intake of proteins and this is especially so with people having weak kidneys or those suffering from a heart problem. People can also be allergic to dairy products and if this is so, avoid taking whey protein milk shakes or tablets.

Is it UGLY - Microwave cooking?

All heating methods would deplete the nutrients in food. The greatest losses would be from the microwave oven due to the concentration of energy into one narrow frequency of the energy spectrum. Food molecules are subject to this energy in the microwave oven. Science called it ‘molecular friction’. This can be understood by comparing with heat from the sun where energy operates on a wide energy spectrum. Whilst microwaves from the sun are based on pulsed direct current (DC) which will not result in frictional heat, microwave ovens use alternating current (AC) creating frictional heat. This micro wavelength radiation causes food molecules to break up and loose their vitamins and enzymes; this is to say the cells in the nutrients become destructively polarized thus forming free radicals that can easily attack tissues in our body. Conventional cooking (over fire) is not as destructive...wow which would you prefer?

The ONE MALAYSIA CONCEPT

The BM forum over tv1 tonight was interesting...a Dr.was around as moderator. While we can go on arguing over the subject matter and Malaysians are good at that, we can never be clear on the objective if there are NO Terms of Reference to the concept. The terms of reference (the blueprint) must initially be set by the PM himself. How can we deliberate objectively on something we are not clear of.
I feel the educational system must first be addressed. Children from DAY 1 at school must be integrated into a system where there is a common language (BM) for all and a common identity (the Malaysian identity) for all. Breaking them up into Tamil, Malay or Chinese schools like what we have now is just doing the opposite and the concept will be a far cry!

A dirty business ...

I was browsing Sarawak Talk minutes ago and wow...postings of all sorts appear there with low levels of truth...naughty,ugly,dirty,nasty,messy,malicious,vindictive and certainly disrespectful. Politicians are always being bombarded and targets of the verbal attacks, that's the ball game...politics is a dirty business...who's going to argue about that?

So this is it ...our civil servants

I was in a Supermarket this afternoon... 3 p.m. and during office hours. I bumped into 2 civil servants in uniform, practically shopping and enjoying the cool of the place. I glanced at my watch, it was 3 p.m. Maybe they were off duty, honestly I don't know but in uniform, surely it is not the place to be in...wow no wonder our dear Najib is dead serious about things!

Be CLEAR on...?

...eating pork, certainly it must be cooked, you CANNOT contract the swine virus. Make that clear! Don't go blaming the 'swine'. We created our environment, we caged them, domesticated them, eat them. Make that clear too...wow!

The HAK-CHEW

The 'Hak-Chew' is when you throw a good SNEEZE...millions of germs going into the air from droplets out of your lungs...if you are infected with the flu virus, then you are certainly spreading the germs or virus, no argument about that...and wow, they could end up at door knobs, table tops etc etc etc. Virus can live for hours, even overnight and a simple touch on the door knob or table top etc etc etc will transfer the germs to another. And this is only through touch. With the inhalation part (breathing in), I will leave it to you with your wild imagination. Take care.

PM means business - a new agenda

I woke up this morning feeling happy that we have now a PM who means business. My first thoughts was Obama in the US, Najib in Malaysia. Our PM has got down to business.
He wants doers in the Malaysian civil service, not mere seat warmers. So, it's a clear message to all government servants to 'pull up their socks'. Of course, the Malaysian civil service is mainly staffed by Bumiputeras, the malays dominating.
You and I both know that our civil service has for many years been subjected to all kinds of political bureaucracy and far from performing their best, the majority slumber into a lack lustre mode. So our dear Najib has taken a bold step in the right direction and winning support. Hopefully the people can see a new beginning. It needs a tremendous amount of effort to clean up the mess, mend the loop holes and replace the non-performers. The whole machinery from the top down needs a shake-up and re vamping will take time. But still it boils down to the individual worker to do his or her part to help the system recover, failing which we will only be dreaming...wow!

Why you cannot concentrate? ... ADHD

This is called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or some years ago, they called it Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). ADHD is becoming common in our 21st century metropolitan style of living. It is real! A neurobehavioural condition where you can't sit still or find difficulty in concentrating on important tasks, ADHD can make you impulsive (loose your temper easily), irritable (can't sit still) and uninterested in work. It has nothing to do with your muscles, it is your mind! While girls may daydream, boys can become violent. Therefore it can cause problems for the family, amongst siblings, at school and certainly at work. As of now, there seem to be NO cure for ADHD but yes, you can be treated...wow, I am posting this to make you aware of things...have you heard of the remarks, "Are you crazy?".

Straightforward and Simple Protection

Cover your mouth, you are protected in a way but there is no full protection because any flu virus can still get to you via the lining of your mucous membrane and that's where your EYES are vulnerable...virus can survive for a few seconds like the HIV virus to a few hours on dry surfaces but no bacteria or virus can live with a humidity (the amount of water in the air) of less than 10 percent. Reason the sea breezes and beaches are not good for you...see my earlier posting.
Personal hygiene is most important and that includes washing up any dirty clothes...they smell because of bacterial growth...do you realise that you are leaving millions of skin cells behind on your clothes...wow...that's how they survive...so do the washing quickly, don't keep them overnight!

Water thoughts ...

Mountain streams and pristine landscape, catchy words and cloudy labels - that's what you will see on a 'bottled' water. This multi-million dollar business is booming in Malaysia but the truth is they come from the same source - the TAP... wow...
other than the RO Water which is mineral free and excellent for kidney patients, the rest are all filtered tap water. No joke, it's more expensive than petrol for something out of the tap...wow...maybe you should think of investing in a good water filter...from me, let's 4get this pure water stuff we called AIR MINERAL...at least know what you are drinking and paying for...tap water + plastic bottle!

Mistakes will propell you forward

At one point in my life many years ago, I was afraid of making mistakes. I didn't want to get into an embarrassment of apologising for my mistakes. Then I began to realise that mistakes are an essential part of self improvement. From then on, it was no turning back. I understand what is meant by aplogising with dignity and I also realised that it would be futile and a waste of time trying to justify mistakes. But most importantly, i found a way to avoid repeating mistakes...we are all not perfectionist...mistakes can come and go, small ones, big ones...accept them ...that way you will keep stress at bay and not end up in a life as a recluse...wow!

Pastor BENYAMIN - A lost soul ?

So he claims...he's a man of GOD but i am not convinced after watching his video. Why?...for a very simple reason and that is, I hate extremism. We cannot go around putting down other religions. God never did teach us that!...wow...vindictive in the house of GOD... no, not my cup of tea,I am sorry.

The need for expert advice - FLU - avoid the BEACH

Flu is short for 'INFLUENZA', a respiratory illness caused by viral infection. There are many types of flu viruses which can infect animals and humans or vice versa. Most people know this...but wow... viruses need the cells to survive, they go through a mutation process in your cell, that is, the genetic adaptation through re assortment or recombination of genes. When airborne, the host could be an animal or a human being...but do you know that Viruses are strongest in droplets of water such as when you sneeze or cough, in aerosol spray or in sea breeze (air blowing over water to form fine spray, this is where surface tension is weakest)...Don't therefore go to the beach at such times and also the reason many people experience flu symptoms after an outing at the beach...wow...not the right place to get fresh air...wowoic!

This thing called KANGTAO

or Kangtou...doesn't matter the spelling...it's a DEAL between 2 parties with a common intention of making money, a monetary gain of sort by hook or by crook. WOW...in Malaysia, Kangtou is practiced at the highest level, it played on my imagination whilst I was browsing the Sarawak Talk last night where the blame game is rife, postings of a personal nature, laughable at times, some are true with solid facts. The Chief Minister and his Ministers etc are certainly not spared...wow, they are featured almost daily...the reason is obvious ...
Would it be an uphill task to eradicate it...I thought schools have moral studies but if teachers are on the take themselves, what do you expect? Well, we have to start somewhere with this "i scratch your back, you scratch my back" thing!

Muscle ache is normal...

Waking up in the morning, you shouldn't at all be unduly tired, if you are, lack of sleep could be the factor. However, your muscles can tire and muscle ache can occur when you overdo any physical activity, that's normal. How long you will last before getting tired while performing the task depends on the energy you have. You need energy, your cells need energy and the less energy you have in your body, the lower will be your physical work capacity. Hence, the supply chain model for your body must be in place and you know best how your own body works, all I want to say is, feed your body with the right nutrients...the right food in the right proportion at the right time.
However, if it causes you pain or soreness in any areas of your joints while lifting something, then it may need some attention. The bottom line is give your body physical work activities on a regular basis. Either in the form of exercise in the gym or outdoors or the normal house chores, they will do you a lot of good.

All MIXED UP - Coffee lovers

Wow...I am a coffee drinker, it's ok coffee is not acidic when it gets into your stomach which has an acidic pH factor of around 1.5...7 being neutral...coffee is alkaline in nature. BUT...wow!!!! what is dangerous is the ADULTERATED mixture you get in the coffee you drink. Like the tasty chicken franks you eat which include all the chicken heads and legs 'dumped' in while processing, the coffee you drink could include coffee plant husks, stems, skins or stalks added before roasting takes place. So are you being conned?...wow...for your money's worth, you may be gulping down an impure mixture of coffee plus this plus that...you may opt to buy the real coffee beans and DIY if you are a coffee lover, that's a way out...or get the processed ones...instant coffee!

Strike OUT

John D.Rockefeller said, "Strike out on new paths rather than travel the worn roads of accepted success". With that in mind, my eldest daughter has started a new life in K.L. Miri is a 'sad' place for her... the tragedy of mum's murder...is no easy thing to swallow, let alone forget. She's doing fine after graduating from Curtin University 3 years ago. My 2nd daughter left for K.L. too, only this morning en route to Perth for a holiday. Carving their careers, facing the world, gripping with reality! We come out stronger!

The PIG , the SWINE, now the FEVER

SWINE FEVER in Mexico and the United States...people dead, alarming to many and the World Health Organisation (WHO) is contemplating to declare a Pandemic...an Epidemic is already bad, so a Pandemic must be taken with seriousness by everyone. Whilst a bacteria is a single cell microorganism, a VIRUS has no cell but will attack the nucleus of the CELL. Since we are human beings and having trillions of cells that make up our tissues (tissues make up the organs and one or more groups of organs make our body systems), we are vulnerable to attack by this H1N1 virus strain. When airborne, virus move with the air currents...and wow...it will get to your lungs when you inhale or breathe. Prevention is keeping your personal hygiene intact, avoid crowded places and see the doctor immediately if you have any flu symptoms (influenza) like muscle and joint pains, dizziness, a blocked nose, etc... with a pandemic and the globe a small place, avoid taking chances.

The hug...HUGGING

Wow...it happened at the recent UMNO General Assembly and very much so at our Akademi Fantasia... Malaysians hugging and hugging and hugging ... in England, it's practically a custom, you can go on hugging and nobody cares...it has caught up here, certainly...I bet you there are concerns from some quarters...wow...no comments!

My thoughts on COMPASSION

Compassion is one of the virtues humans live by. God gave us the five senses and God also gave us this unique feature only found in the human species. Compassion goes far beyond our five senses; it probes deep into our inner landscape where actualization of various degrees can happen within us. It makes us sad, emotional and drives us to look for a divine power in God. It calls to God for mercy and help. It moves the soul as we sympathize at the sight of sin, sorrow and suffering including the wants and the woes of others. When we are overwhelmed with compassion, we normally break out in prayer for others. We would ask for divine intervention to heal the sick and lift the sufferings of those maimed.

It is through compassion that we prepare ourselves for natural disasters, using science and technology to help us in our effort to make the world a safer place for all to live. Compassion strikes out at the very heart of our existence. It exists in all of us.

Hot Day - Humid and DUSTY

Look outside, it's hot and DUSTY...you go out, you breathe in all the dust, unavoidable. wow...Do you know that there are 3 classification of dusts and they are (1) Respirable Dust (2) Inhalable Dust and (3) Total Dust...the third is the most dangerous of the 3. Dusts are a thousand times smaller than a pin head and flow with the air current around you. Even in an operating theater, there will be dusts, yea unavoidable. Dusts get into your sinuses (your nose), your airways (your throat) and down to your lungs. They are the carriers of bacteria and viruses. During hot days, it's better to stay indoors to reduce your exposure to dusts.
Although our organs are made to filter most of the dusts we inhale (e.g. our mucous membrane trap the dusts and reason why you throw out thick phlegm from your throat in the morning), you are not protected 100%.

Music is a STRESS reliever - 100%

This morning I woke up and switch on my lap top and there I sat for 5 minutes listening to some beautiful clarinet sound of music ... it sways my mind! It makes my day!

Effects of SUGAR on your system

Let me go straight to the point:
Obesity - excess sugar will be stored as fats in your fat cells
Tooth decay - accelerate bacterial growth
Immune System Malfunctioning - bacteria in your blood depend and feed on sugar to multiply (do you want them to be out of control?)
Aging - a process called glycation can occur, causing our body tissues, especially our skin to loose its elasticity (reason some people experience skin wrinkling so quickly)
Diabetes - spiking your blood sugar level can damage your pancreas.

So, starting today, try reducing your sugar intake...and you know why they are always there in your food, basically for taste...wow!

Sugar and YOU

Can we live without taking in sugar? What is our sugar uptake? Sugar or all the carbohydrate food like cakes, rice, candies, ice cream provide us the much needed energy for all bodily activities including the functions of our organs. When sugar is in the blood, it is called blood sugar (a slang language) or glucose. Glucose measurement in the blood is possible and is taken as millimoles per litre (mmol/l) of blood. A level between limits of 4 to 8 mmol/l is ok (normal), it is lower in the morning but when you start eating sugars (the carbohydrates), the level goes up. Now, before glucose is absorbed into your cells, they will have to be regulated by a hormone called INSULIN which is produced by the pancreas...the more sugar you consume, the more work the pancreas has to do. When the pancreas is overworked or damaged, you will be faced with DIABETES or 'Kencing Manis' in Bahasa Malaysia. In Type 1 Diabetes, the pancreas stops producing Insulin and in Type 2 Diabetes, your body becomes resistant to Insulin. Type 1 is of course more dangerous. Type 2 can still be controlled though proper diet and exercise.
Wow...the message here is CONTROL your sugar intake or the uptake of sugar by your body. I can only advise you...I cannot help you for consuming the palatable stuff! Take K.

He asked me for some advice...a student

WOW...about SEX... the rights n the wrongs...the Dos and the Donts. My answer to him was, if it's MUTUAL, then it's fine provided you know what you are doing, that 'he' or 'she' is unmarried, above 16, that 'he' or 'she' is free from the HIV virus. wow...HIV...yea having sex with an HIV positive person will put you at high risk of being infected with AIDS... so don't take any chances in the first place. If you are talking about the morality of having sex before marriage, our religion has spelled that out very clearly...the answer is NO, YOU CANNOT HAVE SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE. If you break the rules, then it's between you and God. A sin has been created.

Chicken ala carte

Have you watched this short movie?
It makes the filipinos and filipinas look so stupid in a way. My filipino friend says he's disgusted after watching it. Is this true?...having to scavenge like that or was it just concocted...a make-up story, cocked up by someone there...Never mind about GOD, money comes first! Nope, those scenes in Africa convinced me...not this!

the word OPPOSITION in Malaysia

It has spurred me to write from what I gather from around the places ... KL, Kuching, Miri, KK - people are somewhat FED UP with the word OPPOSITION used in the Malaysian political scene. Needless to say BN politicians use it everyday. That's a fact...just watch the TV news channels. The irony of it all is, we are now having 2 different groups of opposition parties in Malaysia...BN is certainly an opposition in Kelantan, Selangor and Penang for that matter. If the British can called them 'Labour' and 'Conservatives' and the Americans having the 'Republicans' and 'Democrats', could we not in Malaysia take a reformed approach to using the word OPPOSITION in political speeches, over the media, etc etc.
I certainly feel disgusted when this word is used loosely by politicians. In Malaysia you may be called an 'opposition' if you stand by your principles...wow too bad!

Wow...what a reminder

"NEVER JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER!"...how we come to conclusions everyday in our lives without weighing the pros and cons...not looking at the good, the bad and the ugly!

Candle In The Wind

Help Yourself Music to Watch Girls Go By The Girl from Ipanema Rock Round the Clock It's Now or Never Love You More Than I Can Say Bachelor Boy Who Will Stop The Rain Before the Next Teardrops Fall He'll Have to Go Am I Losing You My Girl And I Love You So Black Magic Woman Touch Me In The Morning Morning Has Broken My Way... Adios Amigo....wow We Are The World....!

I will be POSTING for your health!

Yea, I will be around...it's the semester break and I have some time to spare. I will deliberate more on OILS and that palatable taste - SUGAR. So join me later...just anyone...no comments, tak apa...but if you have any, just ASK and I will be glad to communicate...anywhere you maybe...wow that's the beauty of the net. Like what Dr. Mahathir recently said "...you can use the chips for farming..." technology lah...why didn't Tun AB say that... earlier...hehehe...Chow!

Your COOKING OIL

Wow...watch it...what's inside is more important...the quality depends on the types and amount of fatty acids present in the oil. For your information, there are 2 basic types of fatty acids, i.e. SATURATED and UNSATURATED. Unsaturated fats are further classified into 2 sub-types which are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. They are all found in different proportions in the cooking oils you use. Grab hold of my book and it will help you a lot in terms of understanding your food.
Hey, if you can afford it, use OLIVE oil as an alternative. Of course when eating out, you are at the mercy of what is there in the market...wow...that's it, that's life, you must eat!

Who are the rich in Malaysia?

Our honoured home minister said '... the rich, the poor will always be there...' wow...will always be here in Malaysia, if that was what he meant. Just an opinion alright...the poor even exist in the US, so don't kick up the dust. Extremist views like those of some bloggers are not my cup of tea. I have some principles that I honour and cherish. Wow...of course he said that following the announcement by our PM about abolishing the quota system which has plagued some quarters for many many years here in the country...wow now it's gone...so no more that 30% secured for the Malays...we open the door...that's a good deal...on the other hand, facts are facts, you don't have to ask, you only need to see that the Chinese are the 'rich' lot here in Malaysia, more so in Sarawak...You struggle to pay for your Proton, they are already owning a Camry. No, no insinuation here...just facts!
Did I spray some pepper?...wowoic...got it?? Yea, i wish to emphasise that STYLE comes in many forms...you have yours, I have mine. This is my blog, my style of writing, I am original. If you have any comments, then post it...I will come back to you.

Rock Music.. Rap Music.. cool stuff

For you guys, try rapping away with the full blast of your speakers and you may get a barrage of hell from your parents. "Hell man, your time is over!", you said. This is our generation...come on lah...don't be a SQUARE... that's how you would call your dad or mum. Hey, this was what I got from my young daughter when I complained of the 90 decibels effect. U see, this constant 90 decibels noise we called music is energy released into the air causing air currents to bubble up...music to you, unwanted sound to me. This unduly loud pressure known as pitch and amplitude can lead to a partial loss in hearing called TINNITUS. Well, have a good damn time you guys...jam it and ENJOY! WOW...becos,

No.1 All teenagers love music
No.2 Music is a shared bond between teenagers
No.3 Parents need to understand music, even if they have reservations on those rappers
No.4 Be reasonable, the volume can be compromised
No.5 Rock concerts are fine, only avoid drugs.

Wow...Not a Sermon but just Sharing the facts of life

The fact that all religions teach us to honour integrity, practice morality and live by the truth; it has not deterred humans from lying which may result in a crime being committed. Is religion the root cause of any of our troubles as evidenced by the sorrows we see around us? The answer is NO. We are the creators of our own sufferings for manipulating religion. God gave us a special gift in the MIND together with a body and a soul. He also gave us another power which I called CHOICE. It is choice that plays a role when we tell a lie. When the mind is exhausted of decisions to tell the truth, it sails through a sea of temptations and eventually decide to settle with a lie. The irony about lying is, it has been filtered by choice, and it uses choice. Even with a temptation, GOD has given us the power of choice to get out of it. If we do not use this power wisely by choosing the right from the wrong, we are indeed bowing to the powers of evil and submitting to the devil.

The PLASTIC shock!

Wow...have you received any 'plastic' shock in your life especially in your food, that foreign object found in a place where it is not supposed to be. I had many experiences, plastic in the dumpling or 'pau' as we called it here in Malaysia, plastic with my mee goreng and plastic in the seafood soup served at a beach resort. It scares you alright...those bits and pieces of plastic!
Of course they are dangerous. As by products of petroleum, consisting of a combinative formulation of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and some other elements, plastic are commercially used for wrapping and etc, etc, etc. and never will be edible.
Not an uncommon encounter, Just take care when you eat! If there are no plastic shockers around, those strains of hairs at odd places will make you throw out...wow!

Smokers ...try reducing

I was in a coffee shop this morning surrounded by 3 smokers. Puffing of course is their business!
I thought for a moment I was a second hand smoker. Smoke from the cigarettes contain well over 3000 types of chemicals and their nanograms, which by measurement is a billionth of a gram are not considered acute but can prove to be chronic in the long run. Acute means you are exposed to a continuous 15 minutes of exposure whilst chronic takes months and years to develop, for which when symptoms surface, you may be diagnosed with a irreversible lung disease. Wow, if it's lung cancer, then you have had it!
So for you smokers, there are 3 things you need to know: the TAR from the tobacco smoke you inhaled can ultimately block the lining of the air sacs in your lungs (reason why many smokers experience shortness of breath following a physical activity), the NICOTINE which create that europharatic sensation or feelings of being high you experience and the chemical compound of HARMANE that can spike insulin in your blood. This is the reason smokers tend to look for something to drink when they smoke and can skip lunch or dinner for a stick of cigarette. By the way..reason you want another stick after maybe say one hour after your last puff is due to what is called the 'nicotine withdrawal' effect. For now, that's it....Wow...

Contentment - 4u the muslim, the christian, the buddhist

Wow...Contentment comes as the infallible result of great acceptances, great humilities, of not trying to make ourselves this or that... but of surrendering ourselves to the fullness of life, of letting life flow through us. Moderate yourselves then to this beautiful planet we called the EARTH.

Your comments are very much appreciated.

Tiredness ..feeling lousy

Tiredness can be interpreted as overworking your muscles in your body. Depending on the nature of your work and your activity level, people tend to be stressed both physically and mentally when they are tired. Indeed, you will feel lousy when you are tired. You are unable to concentrate and you want to take a rest more than anything else. Wow, what do you do about it? A straightforward answer is...give yourself time to rest..nap or whatever. You will feel a lot better after a short nap.

Now, a better answer is, you should have avoided getting unduly tired in the first place. Being tired is normal, being unduly tired on a normal working day is not normal. Watch out for unusual symptoms like dizziness when you are tired. The urge to drink more and eat more when you are tired is also normal. You see, the body's metabolism has to readjust itself to compensate for the lack of sleep which could be the main cause of you being tired. Your body's' cells are going through the regenerating process every second of the day thus what and how you feed them are worth a thought and of importance. At a time when you feel lousy, physically or mentally, your cells are really shouting out aloud "Hi stop...rest me, feed me, stop tormenting me". So, when you are tired, the decision lies with you to give yourself a rest in whatever manner it pleases you.

Keep healthy...and I welcome your questions.

Show some RESPECT...WOW

Let's say I am just new to this blogging business and really a greenhorn so to speak. Am I really one? You have to know me and for that you are almost certain that I am going to lure you into my net. Perhaps this is a way of being serious about blogging...Wow...I am lost. No, I am not. You are welcome to join in the fun of writing for the good of everyone, for the health of everyone and to the excitement of everyone. Knowing very well we can't please everyone, I will create the WOWOIC for you. Being that part of the everyone i am communicating to, you are with me, everyone of you. When you are in my blog, you are one, just you and me, we are one, everyone.

Now let's begin with something...impromptu that is, what shall I write. OK, let's look at this big little word of RESPECT. What is this all about? What is your perception of it? Well, here in Malaysia, people have been outrageous recently with their political beliefs so much so that they have gone out shouting a little bit too loud at the Rajahs... which literally means 'ruler'. Yeah, here we have the Sultans where you need to accord them respect at the highest level, certainly more than half a dozen of them must all be respected by the people. But rest assured, doing that we don't have to encrypt ourselves by going overboard. The idea of throwing you out or putting you in the box for some uncalled remarks would be breaching the very principles of democracy! But pelting stones at the Sultans' motorcade is downright wrong! I am no racist, no religious fanatic, no extremist... just an ordinary Malaysian blogger wanting to share my thoughts with respect and a measure of restraint. You see, respect will only work with some sincere, positive gestures from both parties. Obama shows respect to everyone he meets and has not faltered. So far, so good. Just in case you are a Malaysian, let's begin by respecting this ONE MALAYSIA concept, I am your countryman, born and bred here. My message is, give respect its due, respect one another, only then will we be able to create a harmonic principle of sort in the country.

Lately, I have been following some talk shows on our Malaysian tv channels anchored for a myriad of reasons..wow great stuff ! Our learned friends of "Drs" and "Profs" almost all with the title Datuk appearing on the shows are great people. I am also a Dato but by natural means. Here in Malaysia, the malay word 'Datuk' means grandpa. My grandchildren have started learning their respect by showing tremendous respect to me which embarrassed me at times. I know I shouldn't be. This is how it goes with the Malaysian culture, respect is shown at an early age. What a pity, we are losing this beautiful culture...it's eroding from our scene. Just a down to earth lecturer I am, I ve been trying to show respect to all my students everday in the lecture room. And I got back what I wanted.
RESPECT is my word for today. Either he's a KING or the poor old lady you called an AMAH, give RESPECT and show RESPECT...it begins with you and me.
