Strike OUT

John D.Rockefeller said, "Strike out on new paths rather than travel the worn roads of accepted success". With that in mind, my eldest daughter has started a new life in K.L. Miri is a 'sad' place for her... the tragedy of mum's murder...is no easy thing to swallow, let alone forget. She's doing fine after graduating from Curtin University 3 years ago. My 2nd daughter left for K.L. too, only this morning en route to Perth for a holiday. Carving their careers, facing the world, gripping with reality! We come out stronger!

The MIND Makes Who You Are

The mind is a powerful machine. It is the way you think. It speaks a language that can destroy or build. Sometimes you are blurred by words from the mind mediated by the mouth and camouflaged by the tongue, mercilessly tearing you down, out to destroy. It has been said the tongue is sharper than the sword but aren't the creator here the mind, for it directs the mouth to speak besides churning those thoughts, good or bad, to be uttered. So really, the tongue is merely a slave. The mind is the master.

Many scholars, experts, professionals and leaders world over have capitalized on this unending subject of the mind, some are self proclaimed "Gurus " that slander, torched and rape the mind out of its wits. Their thoughts can be as beautiful as the sunset or as ugly as the atomic bomb. History holds the facts. But one thing is for sure, they are all guided by their mind that the Almighty God has given them. >>>>

Mistakes and You

>>>>At one point in my life many years ago, I was afraid of making mistakes. I didn't want to get into an embarrassment of apologizing for my mistakes. Then I began to realize that mistakes are an essential part of self improvement. From then on, it was no turning back. I took that opportunity upon myself to understand what is meant by apologizing with dignity for the mistakes I made and I also realized that it would be futile and a waste of time trying to justify mistakes.>>>>

Acknowledging the Day - Laziness

>>>The idea here is going deep into ourselves and and ask ourselves whether we have done enough for the day at the end of each day before we retire to bed. If the answer is in the negative, we may have some laziness or other traits disturbing us during the day. It could be due to tiredness, stress, poor time management or any of the forces disturbing our minds and body. This is not difficult to overcome. It requires a short meditation in some quiet spot at home where we analyze self and renew the inner strength that exists in all of us. A school of thought has called this the "mirror effect", others called it self-actualization. Both may be right. I would simply put it as ACKNOWLEDGING THE DAY. Some people would resign themselves to say a little prayer to God. If this could help, that's fine too. But we all know that asking God to help without helping ourselves is not going to help us in the long run.>>>>

How much LOVE do you want?

Love is the mother of all creations in our lives. Love is a powerful force of our soul, a virtue given by God for all mankind to honour, respect and cherish. The essence of love is nestled from the embryo in the womb. Its creation too was out of love. The mother’s joy at her new born is the joy of love for a new life given out from her. Love holds the family together, builds up the bond between siblings and strengthens the relationship between husband and wife.

It is the love for nation and country that builds our loyalty. Taken literally, love is found in every aspect of life, from the love of our homes, pets and objects we treasure to the cars and shoes or clothes we wear and own. It is a source of biological energy bubbling all around us, unseen with the naked eyes but manifested in our thoughts, feelings and action.

Love travels the realms of our existence in prayers and songs too. I was thinking of one of the most sentimental songs ever - Love Me Tender sung by Elvis Presley. Other songs of love include Love is A Many Splendoured Thing and Love Is Blue.
