Politics in Surgical Masks

H1N1 brings popularity to the surgical masks. Now the absurdity of making surgical masks a controlled item in Malaysia doesn't go well with many traders. While prices soar to US$1.00 per piece, the price hikes alarming many in the government, it must be noted that such masks can easily be made in backyards too which is of course downright unhealthy.
When even international passports can be forged, what is so difficult about making a few thousand pieces of surgical masks in the backyard everyday. Yeah, the black market creeps in when you tighten the noose.
I reckon everything must be subjected to the radar screen at such a time, unscrupulous traders, politicians cum businessmen, journalists, and even the wannabe backyard traders trying to make a quick buck cannot be spared...sometimes near foolish ideas given by politicians are accepted blindly or with one eye shut...wow!
